Anthropologie Coming to Boise

May 16, 2007

Anthropologie, the high end women’s clothing, jewelry and home products retailer, is set to open at Boise’s Block 44 by the end of the year. Anthropologie will be added to arguably the best block in the state of Idaho, situated amongst a series of commercial buildings at the liveliest intersection in downtown Boise. Anthropologie will be located at 822-824 W. Idaho Street between 8th and 9th Streets, joining other significant retailers and restaurants located on Block 44.

The store, which will be approximately 9,000 square feet, will sell the worldly clothing, jewelry and home pieces for which the company is known. The arrival of Anthropologie will further add to the collection of retailers at Block 44 catering to a more sophisticated market.

Comprised of 25 boutique retail spaces and one multi-story 40,000 square foot mixed-use office and retail building, Block 44 is home to Grape Escape, the Lux on 9th, See Jane Run and more. Adam Secher, of Baum Realty Group and Kira Meers, of The McDevitt Company brokered the transaction.

“We are very excited to announce the addition of Anthropologie to Boise,” said David Baum, president of Baum Development, which acquired ownership of Block 44 in 2006. “Anthropologie will complement other Block 44 tenants perfectly and paves the way for other national retailers to enter the Boise market.”

Baum Development, LLC is a Chicago-based comprehensive national real estate development company specializing in the acquisition and redevelopment of underutilized properties. Over the past 17 years, Baum Development has successfully developed 2.7 million square feet in 90 projects valued at more than $180 million.
