2007 The Shops at Fox River to Add Kay Jewelers April 5, 2007 Kay Jewelers announced it will soon open a new location in The Shops at Fox River located in McHenry, Illinois. The store will open in the shopping center that is anchored by JC Penney. Allen Joffe, of Baum Realty Group, represented Kay Jewelers in the new lease transaction. “The Shops at Fox River are a natural choice for a new Kay Jewelers location,” Joffe said. “Kay thrives in a shopping center environment where they are surrounded by other retailers. This store will bring in a number of customers from McHenry and other towns nearby.” The Shops at Fox River is a new lifestyle center that opened at the end of 2006. Other retailers in the center are Bed, Bath and Beyond, Office Max, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy and PetsMart. Bill Cikalo of Developers Diversified represented the landlord in the transaction. Kay Jewelers started as one store in Reading, Pennsylvania and has since become the number one specialty brand jeweler in the United States, with more than 800 stores nationwide. Kay Jewelers is a division of Sterling Jewelers Inc., headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Together with Signet Group plc, its London-based parent company, it is the largest specialty retail jeweler in the world. |
