BCBG to Open Next to Marc by Marc Jacobs in Bucktown

March 26, 2007

BCBG Max Azria will open its fourth boutique in the Chicagoland area this fall, joining Marc by Marc Jacobs at 1714 N. Damen Avenue in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. The more than 4,124 square foot space is also near popular Bucktown retailers Pagoda Red, Chipotle, Clothes Minded and Tangerine. The new lease was completed by Janika Brenner, Anthony Campagni and Adam Secher, all of Baum Realty Group, on behalf of the landlord.

“This building is set to be the epi-center of fashion in Bucktown,” said Brenner, who has completed more than 15 deals in the neighborhood over the past two years. “Adjacent to Marc Jacobs and in close proximity to the other hip and trendy boutiques that have come to define Bucktown, BCBG is in the perfect location.”

Marc Jacobs’ decision to locate its first freestanding Chicagoland store in Bucktown has attracted a number of fashion retailers to hip and trendy neighborhood. Demand for the last vacancy on Damen, 1623 N. Damen Ave., is high as other retailers want to be on what is arguably the hottest shopping corridor in the city.

Recognized as a global leader of women’s contemporary fashion, BCBG Max Azria continues to grow and diversify. The BCBG Max Azria Group has a retail and wholesale network of more than 9,000 points of sale in more than 45 countries on five continents and employs more than 10,000. As one of the most recognizable names in fashion, BCBG is truly a global empire, its popularity ranging from the couture crowd to the everyday woman. Jacqueline Hayes of Jacqueline Hayes & Associates and Iris Callie of Iris J. Callie Co. represented BCBG Max Azria in the transaction.
