2006 : Andy’s Frozen Custard Comes to Chicagoland September 19, 2006 The famous Andy’s Frozen Custard recently opened a store in Chicagoland, the first in Illinois and part of the company’s worldwide expansion. The new Bolingbrook, Illinois, location is the first Andy’s of the North, with the only other Andy’s locations in Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. With the new location at 260 S. Webber Road, the renowned Andy’s Frozen Custard jingle is sure to be present on local radio station advertisements. Anthony Campagni, of Baum Realty Group, Inc., represented Andy’s in the 25-year ground lease of the 37,081 square foot property. “The location is sure to attract numerous customers, as the area is a bustling center of commerce,” said Campagni. “Not to mention, people will be traveling to Bolingbrook from all over to get a taste of the famous custard.” The property is located in Country Aire Commons in an outlot in front of a property that plans to house Wal-Mart in the future. John Kuntz and his wife Carol started Andy’s Frozen Custard in Osage Beach, Missouri. The family-run business experienced enormous lines at their first location, prompting the family to open another location in Springfield, Illinois. The demand continued to grow, and the family responded, opening more stores in Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. The company is now a franchise and is looking to build the business both nationally and internationally. Besides being famous for their custard, Andy’s is also known for fun its catchy jingles airing mostly on radio stations near an Andy’s location.
