2006 : Ace Hardware to Open New Store in Chicago September 18, 2006 Ace Hardware will soon add another store in the city of Chicago. Ace Hardware will occupy the 8,516 square foot retail space located at 4813 N. Milwaukee Avenue. The new lease transaction for Ace’s new store in the freestanding one-story building was completed on September 13, 2006. Allen Joffe, principal of Baum Realty Group, Inc. represented Ace Hardware in the transaction. “This will be a great new location for Ace Hardware,” said Joffe, who is also the managing broker of Baum Realty. “The property is situated at a highly visible site at a stop light intersection that will attract customers.” Joffe has worked with Ace Hardware almost exclusively in Chicago to expand the number of stores in the city as Ace continues to increase its presence, adding more stores each year. In 2005, the company opened 131 new stores and is looking to do the same in this year.
