2005 : BILL SELONICK AND ADAM SECHER NAMED PARTNERS AT CHICAGO-BASED BAUM REALTY GROUP Nov. 2, 2005 Continuing its strategic long-term growth, Chicago-based Baum Realty Group, Inc. has named two of its top performers partners of the firm – Bill Selonick, 44, and Adam Secher, 35. The announcement was made by David Baum, head of the retail brokerage firm that represents many high profile landlords and national retailers in the Chicago area. “Bill and Adam are tremendously talented and profoundly focused on client service. They bring impressive sophistication and creativity to their clients’ objectives and ultimately deliver superior results in this competitive field,” said Baum, who co-founded the firm in 1991 with his brother, Douglas. “This is the first time we have added partners to the firm in four years.” Selonick and Secher join Baum Realty Group’s current partners: David and Douglas Baum, Allen Joffe and Gregory Kirsch. Selonick joined Baum Realty in May 2002. Since then, he has represented Washington Mutual Bank in its astounding Chicago market rollout, arranging with his teammate, Greg Kirsch, more than 170 fully executed leases. He is also Panera Bread's exclusive broker in Chicago. Since taking on the account in 1996 he has represented Panera, and its single area franchisee, Chicago Bread, in more than 60 completed transactions to date, accounting personally for nearly 10% of Panera's national store count. Prior to joining Baum, Selonick worked for Jones Lang LaSalle and Northern Realty Group. During his nine years at Jones Lang LaSalle, Selonick specialized in the acquisition of institutional quality real estate on behalf of pension fund clients. This included assisting in the sourcing, negotiating and closing on more than $500 million in acquisitions of regional shopping centers, lifestyle centers and office buildings. Bill has an MBA from Northwestern University's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College. Secher joined Baum Realty Group in 2001, bringing a unique skill set of over seven years experience in restaurant operations and sales combined with an extensive knowledge of the real estate industry. He has represented a number of landlords including The Fordham Company, Thrush Realty, Fifield Realty Co., Prentiss Properties, Triple Net Properties, Archstone Smith and Kimball Hill. On the tenant side of the business, Secher is Baum Realty Group's restaurant specialist working with Pompei, Chipotle, Elephant Bar and a variety of local independent restaurants. He rounds out his diverse retailer clientele with hip fashion and lifestyle tenants such as Urban Outfitters and financial services retailers such as TD Waterhouse. Secher is vice chairman of the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Commercial Forum committee as well as co-chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Chicago's Next Generation committee.
