2005 : BAUM REALTY GROUP NEGOTIATES A LEASE FOR SCOOP New York's Trend-Setting Retailer To Open Its First Chicago Location In Bucktown April 6, 2005 Scoop, a trendy multi-brand fashion boutique, has signed a lease for a 9,800-square-foot location at 1702 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago's hip Bucktown neighborhood. The store will open this fall, anchoring Milwaukee Avenue's growing retail corridor. Janika Brenner and Lorraine Adney of Baum Realty Group identified the site and negotiated the lease on behalf of Scoop. The landlord was represented by Jerry Becker of Becker Realty. Scoop began as a small Soho boutique in 1996 and has grown to be a retail force with three Manhattan locations, as well as stores in Greenvale and East Hampton, Long Island; Greenwich, Conn.; Las Vegas; and in the Shore Club Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. Scoop will open in East Hampton later this year. Scoop features a mix of fashion-forward contemporary and designer clothing and accessories for women, men and children. "There are many factors that went into choosing this location for Scoop," said Janika Brenner and Lorraine Adney of Baum Realty Group. "Scoop immediately liked the 'artsy vibe' of Bucktown with its mix of restaurants, galleries and boutiques. They were intrigued by this particular building because it offered the opportunity to create a Scoop "superstore" concept where they could sell merchandise for men, women and children, as well as lifestyle items and potentially a café. "Scoop will be the first high-end apparel retailer to locate north of the intersection on Milwaukee," said Baum Realty Group's Brenner and Adney. "However, given the building's size, the parking and the ability to do an outdoor café, they will likely become a fashion destination." Recognized as one of New York's most important fashion boutiques, Scoop touts its "one stop shopping in your 'ultimate closet' concept." Carrying brands from Juicy Couture and Seven jeans to Diane Von Furstenberg and Theory, the store offers a unique shopping experience with the best that fashion has to offer all under one roof. |
