2004 : BAUM REALTY GROUP NEGOTIATES NEW LEASE FOR KAY JEWELERS' FIRST URBAN CHICAGO LOCATION Nov. 29, 2004 Kay Jewelers, the largest specialty retail jewelry brand in the United States, has signed a new lease for its first urban Chicago location. Its new 2,650-square-foot store will be located at 1001 W. North Ave. and is scheduled to open in April 2005. This will be Kay's 16th location in the greater Chicago area. Allen Joffe of Baum Realty Group, which represents Kay exclusively in the Chicago metropolitan area, negotiated the transaction. The landlord, CRM Properties, was represented by Chris Siavelis of CRM Properties. "Kay Jewelers has a strong presence and does extremely well in its suburban Chicago locations, which are primarily mall based," said Joffe. "However, for the downtown market, we are seeking street level locations, like this one on North Avenue, that have high visibility and traffic. Additional downtown locations are actively being pursued on Michigan Avenue and State Street." |
