2004 : BAUM REALTY GROUP NEGOTIATES NEW LEASE FOR INTERNATIONAL FASHION BOUTIQUE, BLAKE Exclusive Women's Retailer To Relocate To Chicago Avenue Late Summer July 12, 2004 Blake, an avant-garde women's fashion boutique, has signed a new lease for a 3,200-square-foot location at 212 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago. It will relocate here late this summer from its founding location at 2448 N. Lincoln Ave. "Dominic Marcheschi and Marilyn Blaszka, who founded Blake, have grown their business from a tiny storefront on Lincoln Avenue to an internationally recognized fashion destination," said Lorraine Adney of Baum Realty Group. "In relocating this summer to the architecturally stunning space on Chicago Avenue, Blake will have the perfect setting to showcase its unique perspective on fashion, art and design." Blake presents a uniquely and artfully edited selection of women's apparel and accessory collections by such progressive designers as Dries Van Noten (one of several exclusives to Blake in Chicago), Rick Owens, Martin Margiela, Marni, Balenciaga, Rochas and others. "This new location places Blake in the heart of an artistic environment surrounded by galleries and home furnishing stores," said Baum Realty Group's Janika Brenner. "Blake was the ideal tenant to complement the landlord's vision for the building, which also houses an art gallery adjacent to Blake plus shared creative space upstairs for artists and designers." Baum Realty Group's Janika Brenner and Lorraine Adney represented Blake during the site search and lease negotiations. The landlord was represented by Tom Melk, a principal of Evergreen Properties, which owns the property. |
