CELESTE TURNER ADDS LUSH TO THE LINE-UP
Unique, International Bath And Body Retailer To Open First Chicago Location Adjacent To The Upscale Women's Boutique On Armitage Avenue Baum Realty Group Negotiates The Lease

June 28, 2004

Fresh, handmade cosmetics retailer Lush has signed an 850-square-foot lease for its first Chicago store, which will be located at 859 W. Armitage Ave., adjacent to Celeste Turner, an upscale women's boutique. Scheduled to open this summer, it will be UK-based Lush's 7th location in the United States, joining its stores in San Francisco (two locations), Boston, Santa Monica, Washington, D.C. and New York City. Lush currently has more than 185 shops around the world.

Lush is a unique bath and body concept dedicated to all natural, fresh, handmade products. Its stores are designed like a European fresh market, with bubble bath and shampoo ladled out of kettles, soaps arrayed in slabs and wheels to be cut in wedges like cheese, bath bombs displayed in crates like fruits and vegetables, and specials of the week described on chalkboards above merchandise displays.

The new Lush location will adjoin Celeste Turner, one of the best-known upscale women's fashion boutiques on Chicago's hip Armitage Avenue. Celeste Turner offers a hand-picked fashion collection from contemporary designers, such as Nanette Lepore, Trina Turk, Bianca Nero, Shoshanna, and Jenne Maag.

"Celeste Turner has been a longtime favorite destination on Armitage Avenue," said Janika Brenner of Baum Realty Group. "Lush will be a synergistic co-tenant for them, matching Celeste Turner's exclusivity and unique fashions with its innovative cosmetics line. Lush is sure to be as big a hit with the hip Lincoln Park crowd as Celeste Turner."

Baum Realty Group's Lorraine Adney represented Lush during the site search and lease negotiations. The landlord, ALRO Properties, Inc., was represented by Baum Realty Group's Janika Brenner.
