2003 : BAUM REALTY GROUP ANNOUNCES 16 RECENT RETAIL TRANSACTIONS Subway Restaurants And Kinko's Among Clients Represented Jan. 31, 2003 Chicago-based Baum Realty Group, a leading retail brokerage firm concentrating on the Chicago metropolitan market, recently completed 16 transactions. Many were for national retailers that are exclusively represented by Baum in the greater Chicago area, including Kinko's and Subway. Sales Transactions 9410 Skokie Blvd., Skokie, Ill. – This 10,000-square-foot, single story retail building was sold by Chicago-based Estee Enterprises to V Land Corporation of Chicago. Developed in 1983, the building is currently vacant. The seller was represented by Allen Joffe of Baum Realty Group. V Land Corporation was represented by Ryan Murphy of NAI Hiffman. 820 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, Ill. – In another sales transaction, Baum Realty Group's Allen Joffe represented the seller in negotiations for this 1,800-square-foot, single story office building. Both the buyer and seller are private investors. The buyer represented itself in this transaction. Lease Transactions Charley's Steakery – a specialty sandwich chain, committed to quality, customer excellence and community enrichment – has leased a 2,057-square-foot location at 555 W. Monroe in Chicago. Scheduled to open early second quarter, this store will mark Charley's Steakery's first location in downtown Chicago. The restaurant was represented during lease negotiations by Marshia Jackson of The Center For Neighborhood Technology. Allen Joffe of Baum Realty Group represented the landlord. Subway Restaurants – the world's largest submarine sandwich franchise – recently signed seven new leases for locations in Chicago at 760 Ogden, Lawndale Shopping Center, 1513 Fullerton, Belle Plaine Shopping Center, 87th and Ashland, and Clybourn Square, and in Glenview at Willow Creek Shopping Center. The Little Gym® has signed a lease for 5,095 square feet at 3216 N. Lincoln in Chicago. The Little Gym is a structured, curriculum-based skill-building program designed to teach in a fun, challenging environment. It was represented during lease negotiations by Allen Joffe of Baum Realty Group. The landlord represented itself in the transaction. Trio Salon – a salon that boasts leading edge looks and exceptional personal attention as its hallmarks – has leased 1,900 square feet for its third Chicago area location at 1849 W. North Avenue in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Trio Salon was represented by Adam Secher of Baum Realty Group during lease negotiations while the landlord was represented by Shannon Pope of HSA Commercial. Kinko's – the world's leading provider of document solutions and business services – has signed two new leases, one at City Park of Lincolnshire in Lincolnshire, Ill. and another at 700 S. Wabash in Chicago. Kinko's was represented by Greg Kirsch of Baum Realty Group during lease negotiations. Building ownership in the Lincolnshire transaction was represented by Jerry Becker of Becker Realty. Ownership represented itself in the Chicago transaction. Rienzi Plaza, 554-614 W. Diversey Parkway, Chicago – Serving as exclusive leasing agent for the residential high-rise, Baum Realty Group's Allen Joffe, Adam Secher and Nicole Putzel recently completed the following new leases for the building: Harris Bank, one of the largest community bank networks in Illinois, has signed a 2,657-square-foot lease for a new location in Rienzi Plaza. Harris Bank was represented by Mable Gin and Mike Shields of Northern Realty. Aladdin's Eatery has leased a 2,000-square-foot location at Rienzi Plaza. The popular eatery was represented in lease negotiations by Teri Herrmann of Kelly & Visconsi Associates in Cleveland, Ohio. Chipotle has leased a 3,244-square-foot location at Rienzi Plaza. Chipotle was represented by Mable Gin and Kim McGuire of Northern Realty. |
