Baum Realty Secures Four Retail Tenants for River North Building
In early 1999, Atlantis Properties, Inc., commissioned Baum Realty Group
to lease four retail properties located in the 300 W. Grand building,
in Chicago's trendy River North neighborhood.
At that time, Atlantis was nearing completion of a build-out of condominium
loft units at the former commercial office building. Sales of the residential
units were moving well.
However, attempts to lease the building's four 1,600-sq. ft. first-floor
retail locations were not going as smoothly. The properties had been vacant
for months and no prospects were in sight.
In February, 1999, Atlantis replaced its former real estate broker and
brought in Baum Realty Group. The mission was to find tenants quickly
and to find tenants that meshed well with the upscale River North
community.
By October, 1999, Baum Realty had successfully leased all four of the
spaces. Just as importantly, each of the tenants Baum Realty brought in
complemented neighborhood needs perfectly. Tenants are: Easthetics, a
high-end Indonesian furniture retailer; No Place Like, a high-end contemporary
urban furnishings retailer; Urban Computer, a hardware/software retailer;
and Rizzata's Pizza.
"We couldn't be happier," said Robert Gunn, of Atlantis Properties.
"Baum Realty really came through for us. They not only filled the
spaces in a timely manner, but they brought in tenants that fit the community
perfectly."
