Baum Realty Group Raises the “Barre” In Bucktown

The Dailey Method to Open First Chicago Location on Damen Avenue

Baum Realty Group (BRG) is pleased to announce that The Dailey Method, a unique fitness training program that uses the ballet barre to help achieve optimal conditioning, has chosen to open its first Chicago location in the heart of Bucktown’s retail district.  The site, located at 1714 North Damen Avenue, will feature two exercise studios, a fully-staffed kids room, a locker and shower room with a variety of amenities, as well as a retail section.  The studio is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2009 and will occupy 4,285 sf.  Anthony Campagni of Baum Realty Group represented the landlord in this transaction.

“Even during a time of tumultuous economic conditions, Bucktown, and this property in particular, has attracted a remarkable array of high-end retailers given its ideal location,” says Campagni.  The Dailey Method joins Marc by Marc Jacobs, BCBG and Pagoda Red among others as part of the 1714 North Damen Avenue collection.

The Dailey Method concept originated in California’s Bay Area and combines ballet barre work, core conditioning and stretching to tone and strengthen the entire body.  Tami and Brett Conway will own the Chicago studio in partnership with The Dailey Method and bring a wealth of fitness and dance training to the table.  Tami has 15 years of dance and fitness experience, including performing with the Chicago Bulls Dance Team and Brett’s training as a former NFL player adds an athletic focus to the fitness regime.  The tenant was represented by Danny Jacobson of CB Richard Ellis in this transaction.
